ORGANIZATIONS
American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) - The AFL-CIO works tirelessly to improve the lives of working people. They are the democratic, voluntary federation of 60 national and international labor unions that represent 12.5 million working people.
United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) - The United Mine Workers of America is a diverse union with membership that includes coal miners, manufacturing workers, clean coal technicians, health care workers, corrections officers and public employees throughout the United States and Canada.
Amazon Labor Union (ALU) - Their demands are simple: better pay, better benefits, and better working conditions. Amazon workers know the only way they’re going to pressure the company into treating them with respect is by uniting under one banner and exercising their right to come together as an independent union.
Association of Flight Attendants-CW (AFA-CWA) - AFA-CWA is the flight attendant union organized by flight attendants for flight attendants. AFA represents nearly 50,000 flight attendants at 19 airlines, serving as a voice for flight attendants at their workplace, in the industry, in the media and on Capitol Hill. Simply put, the goal of flight attendants who become part of AFA-CWA is to negotiate better pay, benefits, working conditions and work rules at their airline, and to improve their safety on the job.
Mother Jones (Magazine) - Read about the intersection between Mother Jones, the reader-supported investigative news organization, and their namesake, Mary Harris "Mother" Jones, the firebrand, union organizer, and activist.
